What to Expect When You’re Expecting: As Expected

Director: Kirk Jones Screenplay: Shauna Cross, clinic Heather Hach Release Date: May 18, viagra 2012 Actors: Cameron Diaz, salve Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Chace Crawford, Brooklyn Decker, Ben Falcone, Anna Kendrick, Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock Based on the book of the same name by Heidi Murkoff I say “As Expected” because I didn’t expect much from “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”, and in return, I got as I had expected: a cute forgettable movie. With such a large cast, it would have been impossible to make a terrific movie (in the same vein as so many other small storyline movies with a huge cast like “Happy Valentine’s Day”, “New Year’s Eve”, etc.). Based loosely on the book of the same name, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” follows five couples that deal with pregnancy and having children differently. First, there is Jennifer Lopez’ character of Holly and her husband Sam who struggled to have children and are now trying to adopt. Meet Elizabeth Banks’s character Wendy, who owns a baby store and knows all things babies and about pregnancy. Her husband Gary and her have been trying to have a baby for a long time (2 years) […]

Movie Review: The Green Hornet (January, 2011)

Director: Michel Gondry Screenplay: Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg Release Date: January 14, order 2011 Actors: Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Christoph Waltz, Cameron Diaz The Green Hornet was not received well by fans at the San Diego Comic Con last summer. However, with the more recent trailers, a lot more people seem to be at least more interested and have more hope with the film. The Green Hornet comic and original television series were more serious than this new remake of the masked superhero, which seems to be making a lot of the hard core fans unhappy. I have never read the Green Hornet comic, nor have I seen the original series, so I can’t fairly compare to the source. This review will be purely from what I saw from this new film. As many people know, Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express, Superbad) is the lead actor in the Green Hornet and as Britt Reid and had to shed lots of pounds to play the title character. Rogen also wrote the screenplay along with Evan Goldberg, so he was quite invested in this project in various ways. Mega Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou (which I wrote a raving review for on […]

Movie Review: The Box (November, 2009)

Director: Richard Kelly Screenplay: Richard Kelly Release Date: November 6, symptoms 2009 Actors: Cameron Diaz, James Marsden, Frank Langella Based on the short story Buttons Buttons by Richard Matheson Poorly executed, great concept. These are the words that come to mind when it comes to the newest film by the director of “Donnie Darko”, Richard Kelly. Any one who has watched “Donnie Darko” understands that the ideas that come to Kelly’s mind are portrayed in a strange, almost mystical manner, with a hint of dark humor. This time around, Kelly remakes a short story, titled “Buttons Buttons” (by author Richard Matheson, author of I Am Legend) into a feature length film, a story that focuses around the mystery behind a box. Set in Virgina in the early 70s, this mysterious box is delivered to a young couple Norma and Arthur Lewis (James Marsden and Cameron Diaz) who have one son. The deliverer, Arlington Steward (the fabulous Frank Langella) is a survivor of sorts who was struck by lightning and was permanently and visibly scarred. They are given the choice to press the button that is on the box and receive one million dollars — the catch being that it would […]
